Dear Reader,
Writing this book was an extension of my favorite part of scrapbooking. For me, scrapBOOKs are all about telling a story with pictures and words. My favorite part of scrapbooking has always been the journaling. Whether I am using a computer or paper and pen, I love watching letters form on a blank page.
My love of words and stories started with parents and teachers who encouraged reading and writing. I was raised in Iowa and books were my way of finding out about the world beyond my hometown. I could travel anywhere when I opened a book. I met interesting characters and learned so much from the books I read. All the while, stories were percolating in my own head. I have always heard the voices of characters who have had a tale to tell. This book, The Scrapbook (a novel), is one of the stories I was compelled to write.

Now I live in Minnesota, a truly beautiful place. My life still revolves around paper. I spend most nights curled up with a book. I try to scrapbook as much as I can but I know there will always be more pages than I can finish in one lifetime. I consider myself a traditional scrapbooker because I do not do digital scrapbooking (yet!). Even though our world is increasingly paper-less and computer-contained, paper is still a major force in my life. I sign homework packets and make grocery lists and file receipts and wrap gifts and sort junk mail and set up bags to recycle all the paper scraps.
I hope you enjoy the pages of The Scrapbook (a novel). I am diligently working on my next book and I am thoroughly enjoying the process of seeing the letters forming on the page!
All the best to you,
